Description: Questioning the neutrality of children's literature and
bringing action into the classroom...
Uncover and discover the discourses that rest unseen and unchallenged, and
reflect on the consequences for all citizens when teachers authorize and
legitimize the unexamined text. Develop a theory to practice foundation in
critical literacy and participate in creating a wrap around plan for
infusing critical literacy into the children's literacy curriculum/reading
program. Suggested pre-req or co-req or equivalent: EDCI 321.
