University of Idaho Students
Note: YOU MUST HAVE YOUR STUDENT ID NUMBER
AND VANDALMAIL ADDRESS TO REGISTER AT
THE UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO LIBRARY. To get your Student ID #, you must go to
the U of I office (M-F, 8am-5pm) at 1000 W Hubbard Ave. You must
have picture ID with you (e.g. Driver’s License). You must also have
a Vandal Mail Email Account. All UI students have access to Vandal
Mail. Contact our office for more information.
If you have your UI Vandal Card:
Call the UI Library at 208-885-6559 or 208-885-6843 to register your
14-digit Vandal ID card bar code number in the
library system. This will give you full access to the University of Idaho
Library databases, ILL services, and check-out privileges. After you are
registered through UI Library, you will also have full access to NIC
Library check-out services, and to NIC databases while on the NIC campus.
If you do not have a UI VandalCard, but you do
know your Student ID Number and your Vandalmail Address:
Call the UI Library at 208-885-6843 or 208-885-6559 and
have your Student ID Number and Vandalmail address ready. They will issue you a
special library card and register you in the system. Your library card
will be mailed to you, and you will usually receive it within 2 or 3 days.
This will give you full access to UI Library databases, ILL service, and
check-out privileges. After you are registered through UI Library, you
will also have full access to NIC Library check-out services, and to NIC
databases while on the NIC campus. NIC Library will check-out items to
you without your card until you have received it in the mail.
To register, you may go to the UI Office located at 1000 W
Hubbard Ave. They will let you use a phone to call UI Library at no charge.
The library does have a toll free number available when the reference
desk is staffed, 1-800-294-8097, but you will need to ask to be transferred
to the circulation desk (direct line, 208-885-6559)
